Version 2.1

The Lilac Thief

1.25 oz Lilac-Infused Wray & Nephew Overproof Rum

.75oz Echo Spirits White Rum

1oz Lime Juice

1oz Simple Syrup (1:1)

3 dashes "Urban Foraged" Lilac Tincture

Mist Lilac Tincture

Listen, It’s not my fault the world’s best-smelling flower blooms for only one sweet week each year. If my neighbors aren’t going to fully appreciate spring’s most precious gift, I’m going to do it for them. Discreetly. Under the cover of night. And make it into a Daiquiri.

Lilac Tincture

Fill a jar with fresh blooming lilac flowers, avoiding the stems. Fill the jar, covering all of the flowers, with high-proof neutral alcohol. The more ABV, the better the flavor extraction and shelf life. Start checking for flavor after about 6 hours, and when satisfied, strain the tincture multiple times through a cheesecloth. The tincture can be used in a dasher bottle or sprayed with an atomizer. Follow the same steps for other infused spirits, adjusting the timing based on proof.

Cocktail

Combine rums, lime juice, simple syrup, and lilac tincture in a shaker with ice. Shake until well chilled. Spray lilac tincture into a chilled coupe or nick and nora glass, and double strain the cocktail into the glass. Garnish with a small sprig of fresh lilac blooms.
